Step 2
Using the anhydrous compound as a catalyst, the FOA and aqueous cheap drugstore lip liner hydrochloride (CH 3 ClOH) are reacted (the latter first) to convert FOA THCA. The reaction yields approximately 8% yield of THCA.
Note: Although the reaction described in this example can be carried out in the absence of a catalyst, reactions may be improved by adding metal catalysts such as lead in the reaction mixture to increase yield and stability.
Results
This example shows that the conversion of anhydrous anisothiocyanate to the product THCA can be carried out with high efficiency and at low cost (as compared to the previous conversion). THCA-HCl can be prepared at an economical price by adding met.
